In color meant a later episode. The color of the outfits signified either a middle episode or a later one. I was starting to grasp the concept of seasons... lost in space Outfits . Although everyone played a part in the series, it was the weird antics of Dr. Smith that gave the show momentum. He sabotaged the Jupiter 2 in the first episode so it wouldn’t reach Alpha Centuari. His schemes backfired as he was trapped on the ship and Smith got lost in space with the Robinson family. His blundering and wild schemes annoyed everyone, especially Major Don West.
